SE, LEED AP BD + C

Erik integrates his affinity for art, community, and music into his engineering identity, which has forged an adventurous professional path. Whether he is test climbing a suspended play net structure, playing keyboard with his funk/fusion band Rusty Groove at an awards ceremony, or orchestrating the design and on-site construction of 70-foot art installations in the Black Rock Desert—Erik seizes the opportunity to solve unconventional problems in innovative ways. While Erik has cultivated a broad level of expertise across building types and market sectors including higher education, public/civic, and historic preservation, it is his focus on sustainable design and prefabricated construction that has led him to become an early adopter and industry leader in mass timber design.

As a Bay Area native, Erik enjoys exploring the area’s local backroads on camping trips with his family and two dogs. In between work and family time, Erik can be found playing music or in his garage fighting off the gremlins that creep into the old British electrical systems of his Triumph TR6 Roadster.
