When Zander transitioned to leading Holmes in 2005, he wanted to grow the company without losing the fun of structural engineering. From kicking the dirt in Utah while Adobe selected its campus site to floating under a San Pedro pier as AltaSea negotiated its lease, Zander prioritizes technical inquiry and the pursuit of design excellence. He continues to oversee key projects that push the boundaries of what structures can achieve.
With a conscious effort to ensure that engineering is as much an art as it is a science, Zander works to infuse all projects with a design orientation. A New Zealand native, he spent time in the UK before putting down roots in the Bay Area, where he and his wife raise three daughters.
