The Intuit Corporate Campus consists of two new office buildings and two new parking facilities. The project provides additional office space and amenities for Intuit, which develops financial and tax preparation software including: QuickBooks and TurboTax. The goals of the company are reflected in the design and structure of Intuit Corporate Campus: connection of community; transparent flexible spaces; a unique workplace; a sustainable and healthy workplace. Each of the two buildings are designed to meet LEED Platinum Certification and collectively will house 1,800 employees in a collaborative, open setting. The two four-story office buildings with one-story of parking located partially below-grade are unique in shape due to the site constraints. Holmes is providing full structural engineering services, including Life Cycle Analyses to achieve sustainability goals.
The buildings are classed as a structural Occupancy Category III, which provides increased seismic performance compared with a standard structure. After reviewing a number of structural design options, a conventional flat slab concrete design was chosen for its spanning capabilities, ease of construction, higher floor to ceiling heights, future functionality, vibration control, and speed of construction. The new office facilities will provide an open workplace with bay views, as well as a cafeteria, fitness center, conference rooms, and rooftop gardens. Two large four-story open atria will provide spaces for “all hands” meetings.
